According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, birdwatching is now a hobby of 47.8 million Americans, with wildlife watching up 8% from 2000 to 2006. Over the same period hunting and fishing declined in popularity by 4% and 12%, respectively.
To guide the newcomers, there have been many birding trials created in more than 20 states have created since 2000. Also, outfitters are branching out to offer trips focusing on feathery critters.
