These building sure have green attitude! They help save energy because of their innovative design, making as much use of natural light as possible, and save energy with hi-tech technology as well as engineering feats.
Hearst Building( in the first image)
Location: New York
• Its architectural shape has given it access to ample light, so it saves electricity. Sensors control lights, dimming, or putting off interior electric lights when natural light is available.
• The roof collects rainwater that is used to irrigate trees and plants inside and outside the building.
• For better part of the year, a high-tech HV AC system uses outdoor air for cooling and ventilation.
• The structure’s grid-like frame required 20% less steel than would be used for a similar conventional perimeter frame.
As a result, the energy used and carbon dioxide emissions are slashed to 22% less than an average office building of comparable size in New York.
Thom Mayne’s FederalBuilding

Location: San Francisco
• This building breathes through its skin, it is adapted to change cover according to weather conditions. It has a computer-controlled skin!
• Its narrow floor-plate allows for natural ventilation, while metal sunscreens shade the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Glenn House

Location: Santa Monica, Calif.
• This ultra-energy-efficient house waters itself,t powers itself.
• It has been given “platinum” status in the U.S. Green Building Council’s influential LEED rating system.
We sure can use this technology on Eco resorts and come up with numerous energy saving hotels.
