Recognized as abiosphere reserve by UNSCO in 2000, Can Gio in Vietnam is estimated that 25,000 hectare of land has not been used. Those who visited this place a decade ago can hardly recognize it today. The Vam Sat Salt-Marsh Forest Ecological Tourist Zone in Can Gio is the best preserved site in Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Foreign ecologists recommend that Can Gio salt-marsh forest is the safest place for speedily depleting bio-diversity in Vietnam and in the world. With a huge area of 75,740 hectares, the forest boasts diversified variety of fauna and flora, which makes it an ideal place for those who are ardent lovers of nature.
The forest creates tourist sites based on available natural environment. But Swamp is a major point which bags first position in the tourists quires. It looks like that nature itself has come on the canvas.
However, you have to face some hurdles, as the roads are not in good condition and bus is the only means of transport here. Most people like to arrive here by boat. Another trouble of Can Gio is lack of fresh water; almost all fresh water is transferred from HCM City by boat.
