scrap cars

The European union 2003 legislation standards require that all cars going off the road have to be taken to an approved site, cleaned of pollutants, and the owner issued with a certificate of destruction.

But in Britian the number of cars that are to be disposed of thus is steadily reduced resulting in only 250,000 cars this June. This means that a lot of batteries and fluids as well as other scrap must be left to turn toxic.

Genuine operator Jeff Bridges trying to compete with the illegal car-breakers is quoted to have said

“You’ve only got to pick up the local paper, turn to the back page and there will be dozens of adverts with mobile numbers to remove your vehicles. And we can’t compete with that.’

Well I guess the European union will just has to put in stricter clauses.
