As a result of global warming there is a faster thawing of the lakes in Siberia resulting in release of larger quantities of Methane. The larger production of this greenhouse gas will then further aggravate global warming. Scientists write that
“Thaw lakes in north Siberia are known to emit methane, but the magnitude of these emissions remains uncertain,” “We show that methane flux from thaw lakes in our study region may be five times greater than previously estimated.”
The lakes are formed in summer when permafrost melts. Apart from this the other highest source for methane is farming practices.

Since the 70se, scientists have warned us and overall the politics about the heating of earth. But as usual, we’re waiting laste minut to react and do something about this problem and other ecological ones. Juste beacause a little number of people is having the largest part of richness and don’t give a damn about what’s going around as long as their butt is safe, warm and cosy. What kind of a world will we leave to the next generations?
